DEPARTMENT 10 – RABBITS
Entry Fee: $2.00 per Entry
Rules:
Rabbits will be given a health check upon check-in. Any rabbits showing symptoms of illness, including but not limited to, ear mites, nasal and/or eye discharge will be denied entrance to the barn and unable to show.
1. Exhibitors are responsible for caring or arranging for care of their own rabbit(s) while in the barn. This includes food, water, and clean-up. Exhibitors are NOT to feed or water other exhibitors’ animals, if an animal is without feed or water, please contact the Rabbit Superintendent.
2. Rabbits are to be checked in and remain on exhibit until designated release time. Exceptions to check in or release time are at the discretion of the Rabbit Superintendent. Removal of rabbits without Rabbit Superintendents permission could result in premiums being withheld.
3. Rabbits MUST be placed on the judging table by the EXHIBITORS, the ONLY exceptions are for young children needing help or anyone with more than one rabbit being shown in a class, or an exhibitor showing in another barn at the same time. If exhibitor is showing in another barn, exhibitor is responsible for informing the rabbit superintendent prior to showing. Any exhibitor who is not present in the barn when their rabbit is being shown will not be eligible for placing or premiums.
All rabbits must be property of the exhibitors and must have been in possession of the owner by the entry deadline.
**Meat Pen Rabbits and Single Fryer Rabbits MUST be tattooed with designated Show Tattoo or Breeder Tattoo in the left ear. If not tattooed at check-in, rabbit will be tattooed with a marker in the left ear by livestock show personnel. No Exceptions.
Meat Pen Definition- A Meat Pen will consist of 3 rabbits of the same color and the same breed (mixed breeds are allowed). They will be no older than 10 weeks of age and weigh no less than 3 pounds and no more than 5 pounds.
Single Fryer Definition- One rabbit, not over 10 weeks of age. Rabbit must weigh at least 3.5 pounds and no more than 5.5 pounds.
Roaster Definition- One rabbit under 6 months of age weighing no less than 5 ½ pounds and no more than 9 pounds.
Stewer Definition- One rabbit 6 months of age or older. Minimum weight 8 pounds, no maximum weight.
No rabbit entered in a meat pen may be double entered as a single fryer.
**Rabbits shown in a meat class MAY be double entered as a single-entry buck or doe in Junior class for an additional entry fee.
**Rabbits to be shown MUST have an identification tattoo in the left ear, either by permanent tattoo or written by permanent marker prior to showing. Upon check-in, if animal does not have tattoo, livestock show personnel will assign and mark animal(s) by permanent marker with an ear number. Permanent marker will NOT hurt the rabbit and will eventually rub off.
**Rabbits must be entered by declaring on the entry form one of the breeds listed below. Entry form shall state breed, sex, age, color or variety, and ear number.

DEPARTMENT 11 – POULTRY
Entry Fee: $ 2.00 per entry
Rules:
1. Champions in each category will be selected. Best of Show will be chosen from Champions
2. Bantams and Large Fowl will not compete against each other, except for Best of Show.
3. Exhibitors of turkeys will bring their own cages for each entry.
4. Entries will be judged on their own merits.
5. Exhibitors must supply their own transport cage.
6. All birds, excluding waterfowl, must be NPIP tested or have current NPIP Certified Flock paperwork.
7. Exhibitors of broiler projects & Poultry Chain birds must be present for judging.
Judging for broilers and poultry chain will be done in a sift process in the show arena.

Broilers & Poultry Chain - Must be 4-H or FFA issued
1. Four broilers constitute an entry. Broilers will be provided by a commercial source through the Fair board. Broilers will be approximately 7 weeks of age at the time of the show.
2. Only one pen of broilers may be entered by each exhibitor.
3. Broilers will be wing-banded and distributed at the Northwest Arkansas District Fairgrounds
4. Deadline for broiler orders is July 24th of year shown. Only FFA advisors and County Extension Agents are eligible to place orders
5. Broilers without a wing-banded will be ineligible to show
6. All broilers become property of the Boone County Fair in lieu of entry fee.
All Poultry must be removed on Saturday at release time or they become property of the Boone County Fair!
